Light-directing system for energy-efficient building envelopes

Energy requirement for building envelopes are increasing. OKASOLAR F with specially formed louvres made from coated steel optimise buildings' energy balance very effectively. The newly developed profile cross-sections of the OKASOLAR F are all extremely narrow - the louvres require only a space of 16 mm in the window's cavity. They are perfectly suitable for the application with triple insulation glazing and narrow window design.

When combining both louver types OKASOLAR F O and OKASOLAR F U in a single element, the requirements for the interior space can be precisely targeted. The evenly distributed illumination reduces the requirement for artificial lights - energy costs are cut back. Furthermore, by regulating the heat input into the building during the summertime the cooling load is reduced. In addition, the proper use of daylight creates a comfortable atmosphere and thus provide a high degree of user comfort.

Perfect interaction:

OKASOLAR F O reflects the daylight deep into the room.

OKASOLAR F U reflects the majority of solar radiation back into the atmosphere.

Owing to the extremely small cross-section of the profile, the horizontal transparency (57%) is very good.

The simulation shows:
when compared with common insulated window panes (Fig.1), the lighting conditions can be optimized by using OKASOLAR F O and OKASOLAR F U (Fig.2).
