OKACELL Insulating Glazing with Photovoltaic modules

OKACELL insulating glazing with photovoltaic modules in the interpane cavity offers highly individualised design options. The range includes solar cells in various colours and hole patterns, and the glass can be adapted superbly to suit the architect’s requirements. The integration of solar cells and light-diffusing capillary slabs into the glazing, printed glazing and, of course, individually created pane shapes are just a few of the options. Moreover, the distance between the cells can be varied. Furthermore, the individual solar cells can be connected to individual electronic circuits.

OKAWOOD with timber louvres

OKALUX GmbH presented another new development: OKAWOOD with timber louvres. The designoriented sunshade system features specially shaped profiles made of thermally modified wood in the interpane cavity. Comprising several layers of veneer, the louvres afford excellent protection against sunlight and glare and allow warm tones of daylight to enter the room. The look of the natural material creates an uplifting ambiance, and the attractive design of the wooden inlay allows a clear outward view.

OKAGEL Light Diffusing Nanogel Insulating Glass

Recently launched onto the market, the translucent OKAGEL façade element with Nanogel® in the interpane cavity provides excellent heat insulation, while making maximum use of daylight. The highly porous silicon material is also light, transparent and soundproof. The new insulating-glass system also diffuses daylight deeply and evenly into interiors. Ug-values of less than 0.3 W/(m2K) (0,05 Btu/Hr/ft²/°F) are possible, depending on the glass construction. The Halley VI research station in the Antarctic and the Tengelmann Climate Market, Mülheim/Ruhr in Germany is one of the first buildings to feature OKAGEL.

Sponsoring Detail Price 2009

On January 14 the DETAIL Price was awarded in seven different categories during the DETAIL Gala at the Munich House of Artists. OKALUX GmbH was the sponsor of the glass category.
