NL 2/09 Tengelmann Klimamarkt in Muelheim Ruhr/Germany - OKAGEL

###address### ###name###,

Climate protection and sustainability remain top priorities in the building industry. The EnEV 2009 (German Energy Saving Ordinance) is not the only regulation coming into effect in the autumn of 2009. In the meantime, there are numerous certification systems and green labels which are involved in the planing process or can be requested upon completion of a building. In order to react to the high requirements concerning energy, intelligent and flexible product solutions must be developed. OKALUX has a large product range of functional glass at its disposal which fulfills these standards at the highest technical and aesthetic levels.

Climate protection with optimal customer comfort

Current object: Tengelmann Klimamarkt, Muelheim Ruhr/Germany

OKAGEL insulated glass, which features excellent thermal insulation properties and even light diffusion, was selected as a key component in Germany's first "climate market" - a Tengelmann supermarket branch in Muelheim an der Ruhr. Long bands of skylights incorporating OKAGEL ensure good illumination with natural daylight throughout the store. The congenial daylight atmosphere between the shelves contributes to increased customer comfort and has a positive influence on buying behavior, as the following study Skylighting and Retail Sales.pdf shows. The excellent heat insulation of the glass combined with a daylight controlled illumination system reduce the consumption of electricity by over 30 percent versus a conventional system.
